Owlish homecoming…

Next charges are leaving our Centre. This time our patients were three representatives of tawny owls. First bird; the very beautiful night owl found its way to us in May of this year, after being found near Przeworsk. After applying the right drug radical reform the bird quickly regained the plenitude of powers. The other tawny owl was found in surroundings of the Shed for Stalowska. We stated breaking the elbow bone, multi breaking the tibia and numerous lacerations of limbs and the torso. Here the undergone treatment was more complicated and time-consuming, requiring two, heavy surgeries. The owl was our patient since October 2008. However the third bird's representative from the tawny owl family was provided to us by the resident of Przemysl in February of this year. When found the bird was very weakened and emaciated. Therapy strengthening the organism caused the effect, for every bird. Admittedly tawny owls are much smaller specimens than their typically predatory mates, although the possibility of participating with them (from the time of the direct hit for us) causes the meeting with the wild, free environment and also fun and joy.

Parting with the Lesser Spotted Eagle...

In a beautiful, sunny afternoon of the November came another time to say goodbye. This time a fine-looking representative of the Lesser Spotted Eagle left our Centre. The bird was found in Pysznica surroundings and came to us in August 2008 with broken elbow and radial bone. His adaptation to the independent existence required as many as 1,5 year of the intensive treatment. The Eagle restored his freedom around Sierakośce. The Eaglet tamed to us so much that at first he was reluctant to departure. Sitting on my hand he hesitantly looked around with his unusual eyes, examining new, changing colors of autumn in the area. After a while he treated me with a farewell glance, whereupon he spread out his majestic wings and rose up in full splendor, confident and definitely gaining altitude. Unusual, splendid view of this marvelous creation as perfect and skillfully traverses the air only confirmed our belief there is no problem that he won’t handle himself in his wild habitat.

White-Tailed Eagle in the wild...

The young king of Polish expanses found his way to us over a month ago, after he was poisoned with carrion. The Foresters brought him to us from Głogów. The White-Tailed Eagle was in one's death throes. We did everything what was in our power in order to revive the Eagle. Hard and long days of the intensive treatment and the rehabilitation weren’t wasted. When the Eagle reached the plenitude of form he raised again into Starzawa surroundings, majestically unfolding and waving his large wings...

This is our next Eagle, which gain full recovery and leaves our Center, however, any such good-bye for us is just an indescribable moment. This is a magic experience, thanks to which we are drawing motivation to our further work.

White-Tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) - A large bird of prey from the goshawk family species inhabiting the northern, central and eastern Europe, Iceland, Greenland and Asia on the north of the Himalayas. In Poland the White-Tailed Eagle is the largest occurring bird of prey. Provided with the rigorous species protection

Public Benefit Organizations

Status of Public Benefit Organizations

We are pleased to announce that finally, thanks to our strenuous efforts we were able to obtain the status of PBO (Public Benefit Organization). It is for us another substantial step in the further development of our Foundation. Thanks to the PBO status you can donate on our account 1% tax from your own annual income tax return. For each taxpayer this noble gesture is just a matter of a few lines of additional figure filling, but for us this is an invaluable support, thanks to which we are able to do a lot more towards saving the Polish fauna.

A few words of introduction...

Welcome... :)

We are pleased to welcome you to the new installment of our service after a long break. We had the pressure of work, so that we weren't able to deal with our Internet visiting card. We realize fully that our previous website has left a lot to be desired. Bulk much more priority for us caused the tasks associated with the care of our patients unfortunately we fell behind fully with all objectives, particularly with running the service centre. It seems to us that the current service is much more professional and reader-friendly. We will conscientiously try to keep it updated. We want the service to “live” and to be overfilled with the most recent reports from our activity. At the moment we are slowly supplementing next sections with relevant contents.  However we ask about a little understanding on account of mass of other, recalled higher duties, through which fast untwisting the new service centre from bases is not an easy task In particular, we are open to all your remarks related to this website and our Foundation. It will highly help us with the next task; gradual improvement of our service, as well as the successive development of our Center.

In our foundation a lot happened, and even more is going on currently. Starting from a dozen or so fine-looking, fully of healthy bird's representatives which left our Centre recently, continuing on a few new ideas, to which insistently we are raising funds, finishing on effects of our efforts associated with receiving the status of Public Benefit Organizations options entitling you to donate on our activity 1% of an annual income tax return. About this, and not only this, coming soon...

Yours Faithfully

JK
