Support the development of our Center...

Our Center offers shelter for animals from about 15 years. With each year the number of individuals coming for us is significantly increasing. In the year 2008 we adopted 388 seriously or slightly injured representatives of the Polish fauna.

Most cases are; broken wings and limbs, falls from slots and the most severe accidents such as collisions with high-voltage lines. As the only such institution in Podkarpackie, we accept animals from the entire province as well as adjacent provinces, and frequently also from more distant areas of our country. Average time of stay with us of one specimen to its total cure, achievement of full efficiency and possibility of surviving at large (depending on the type and severity of injury) ranges from about 30 up to 150 days. We also accept disabled animals which unfortunately are doomed to stay with us for life because of suffered injuries (severe fractures and amputations of wings, limbs, partial electric shock as a result of an accident on the high voltage lines). Currently the Center rates about 80 animals of different species recovering from injuries. We have about 30 storks. In the holiday season this number is able to cross over 100 specimens. The costs of daily living (food) for all our patients are very high. In total, they eat daily tens of kilograms (meat, fish and fodder). In the summer, the demand for food increases automatically. Above the cost of food we have to cover the expenses for essential medicines, surgery and further care, without which the treatment wouldn’t have a chance to succeed. Until now we covered medical and food expenses mostly from our own pocket to lead our clinic. It is quite a burden for us. Aid, which we receive from the Regional Management of Environment, is a drop in the ocean. Annual funding is sufficient only for less than 3-4 months of our activity. Unfortunately, we achieved a financial limit, which we are no longer able to cross without help from the outside, and the number of birds (including storks) each year increases. For comparison, in 2003 we adopted 211 birds in 2006 - 286 victims, while last year 2008, as mentioned above - 388 individuals.

Running our Clinic, as well as helping wild animals are treated as a passion, from which we are drawing joy, satisfaction and new experiences. Although this is an expensive and highly time-consuming passion and requires many sacrifices, however moments when the injured animal leaves our center after a long treatment being healthy and fully adapted to life in the wild allows us to believe that what we do, makes sense. It lets us draw motivation and urges us for further action. Practically there is no day for our Center to bring back completely healthy individual to the wild. Ever growing number of our patients impose on us more and more responsibilities and challenges which we must and we are obliged to meet. In addition to the above-mentioned financial barriers, slowly begins to scorch our lack of space, which entails the need to expand our facility for the increasing number of wild animals coming for us. To this purpose with respect to widening our more further activity and the expansion of the appropriate back essential to cope with problems standing before us we commenced already developing of area what will let us the more further development of our Centre.
These will dramatically our potential and capabilities in helping wildlife. The outline of our plans, you can see below on the photos. Until today we have already put the fence posts. Soon the whole area will be fenced off and isolated. Any such work entails enormous financial costs. If only we manage to raise funds for this purpose in the immediate future we are planning powering the Centre in the cages and aviaries of appropriate volume for big birds of prey. We are also planning to create an appropriately large and secure aquatic environment for limicolous – articular animals and to construct adequate enclosures and special runs for typical forest wildlife. This enables us to create a genuine asylum and conditions thanks to which every wounded, wild animal will be able to return to full health in an environment imitating the one in which the animal usually lives.

Therefore, as a Foundation for the Rehabilitation Centre of Protected Animals in Przemyśl we entered the National Court Register (KRS) under the registration number:

KRS 0000313847

We turn with urgent but kindly request for financial support. For us, every penny counts. If you believe that our activities are needed, you have the financial capacity, and at the same time you would like to contribute and spread the idea of helping out the wildlife and endangered, polish fauna we a turn to you with the urgent but kindly request about even the smallest support with which will provide a better life for our patients.Thank you for any voluntary contributions.
