Everyone has some craze...

So what do we do?

Our Center offers shelter for animals from about 15 years. So far, the Clinic refused help to no animal. We are holding the permission from the Ministry of Environment for detention during the convalescence process of; mammals, reptiles and birds, including protected and endangered species. Each year the number of birds finding their way to our Clinic increases. Currently we annually take in around 400 injured animals (mostly protected ones, but not only). Most cases are; broken wings and limbs, falls from slots and the most severe accidents such as collisions with high-voltage lines. As the only such institution in Podkarpacie, we accept animals from the entire province as well as adjacent provinces, and frequently also from more distant areas of our country. Average time of stay with us of one specimen to its total cure, achievement of full efficiency and possibility of surviving at large (depending on the type and severity of injury) ranges from about 30 up to 150 days. We also accept disabled animals which unfortunately are doomed to stay with us for life because of suffered injuries (severe fractures and amputations of wings, limbs, partial electric shock as a result of an accident on the high voltage lines). Currently the Center rates about 80 animals of different species recovering from injuries. We have about 30 storks. In the holiday season this number is able to cross over 100 specimens. Throughout our activity we had the opportunity to assist representatives of such species as:

Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus),  Erne (Haliaeetus albicilla), Marsh Harrier(Circus aeruginosus), White Stork (Ciconia ciconia), Black Stork(Ciconia nigra), European Beaver (Castor fiber), Gray Heron (Ardea cinerea), White Heron (Ardea alba), Siskin(Carduelis spinus), Thrush (Turdus philomelos), Hoopoe (Upupa epops), Brown Shrike (Lanius cristatus), Green Woodpecker  (Picus viridis), Brown long-eared bat (Plecotus auritus), Shorttalon (Circaetus gallicus), Gaper (Corvus frugilegus), Gabble Goose (Anser anser), Wood pigeon (Columba palumbus), Rock pigeon (Columba livia), Swallow Swallow (Hirundo ustica), Hawk (Accipiter gentili), Raccoon Dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides), Swift (Apus apus), European Hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus), Black Kite (Milvus migrans), Jackdaw (Corvus monedula), Water-Hen (Gallinula chloropus), Blackbird (Turdus merula), Sparrow Hawk (Accipiter nisus), Raven (Corvus corax), Fieldfare (Turdus pilaris), Nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus), Mute swan (Cygnus olor), Weasel (Mustela nivalis), Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo), Bat (Chiroptera), Raddish Neck Ember (Gavia stel lata), Lesser Spotted Eagle (Aquila pomarina), Golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus), Screech-Owl (Tyto alba), Little Owl (Athene noctua), Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo), Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus), Tawny Owl (Strix Aluto), Ural Tawny Owl (Strix uralensis), Robin (Erithacus rubecula), Lynx (Lynx lynx), Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus), Eurasian Collared Dove (Streptopelia decaocto), Willow Tit (Parus montanus), Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus), Long-Eared Owl (Asio otus), Jay Wheat (Garrulus glandarius), Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris), Normal Oriole (Oriolus oriolus), Sparrow (Passer domesticus), Hare (Lepus europaeus), Common Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), Pond turtle (Emys orbicularis) and others.

The vast majority of our patients return to their natural environment fully adapted to the independent existence at large.

Running our Clinic, as well as helping wild animals are treated as a passion, from which we are drawing joy, satisfaction and new experiences. Although this is an expensive and highly time-consuming passion and requires many sacrifices, however moments when the injured animal leaves our center after a long treatment being healthy and fully adapted to life in the wild allows us to believe that what we do, makes sense. It lets us draw motivation and urges us for further action. Practically there is no day for our Center to bring back completely healthy individual to the wild. Ever growing number of our patients impose on us more and more responsibilities and challenges which we must and we are obliged to meet. For this purpose, we established a Foundation through which we collect funds for further expansion of our Centre being aimed at considerable increasing our possibilities and potential in bringing help to the wild, Polish fauna.
